Since becoming a freelancer I’ve had many article and feature ideas floating around inside my head. But, there’s also been another, slightly bigger idea in there. And I’m in need of your help!
Parenting is hard and you only really start to ‘get it’ as you’re doing it. This is where I am calling on you, my blogging friends. Together, I think our parenting knowledge is like gold dust! What was that golden nugget of a tip that you wish you had found sooner?
I’m putting together a Kindle book with the working title ’101 top tips for new parents’. The tips are all by parents and the proceeds will be split between ‘2 Wish Upon a Star‘ and ‘The Lullaby Trust‘. Both of these are worthy charities and two I feel very strongly about – due to heartbreaking stories that have remained with me.
How can you help?
- Please email your top tip to firstname.lastname@example.org (include your name, where you’re from, blog, and Twitter handle). Your tip can be from 5-100 words long and be relevant for a baby and toddler up to three years old. It can be anything, from cleaning, sleeping, playing, feeding, teaching… or just a general piece of advice you wish you’d been told earlier!
- Tweet about this project using the #101ParentingTips hashtag and link back here for more information.
- If you could spare me a blog post that would be fab. I want to spread this project far and wide. You don’t have to link back here, just make sure people know where to send their top tip. If you do want to link back, feel free to grab the badge (at the bottom of the post)!
- It would be great to get tips from all round the world, so this is open to everyone!
Not only will we be helping new parents with possibly the biggest challenge they will ever face, but hopefully raising money for two very worthwhile charities. Plus, you might see your top tip published!
Let’s get started. My top tip:
“Everything is a phase. Remember that during those two weeks of no sleep, or the aches and pains of teething. It soon passes…”
So, what’s yours?
