My child didn’t start school this week, or go back after a long summer. But my mind has still been preoccupied with that word. School. It’s just begun to hit me that next September my Little miss will be starting school. She will be going to actual school, a proper school with a uniform, bookbag, the lot! Better start thinking about where she’s going to go hadn’t we? We’ve thought about it, we have a list of our preferred schools, and we’ve even arranged to attend some ‘Open days’. Once we’ve been to these it’s all going to seem very real.

I rocked the ‘first day’ look.
It was taken the morning of my first day at school, I looked quite sweet didn’t I? I don’t remember that day. I remember my shoes, tan with a little gold buckle, I remember being really excited wearing them. I remember my lunchbox, red with ‘Spot the dog’ on front (remember him? He was awesome). But, I don’t remember the actual day. I wonder what parts of this major milestone Little miss will remember?
This time next year I will be among the parents running around collecting school uniforms, buying the first pair of school shoes, and mentally preparing myself for my ‘baby’ starting school. Where is the time going?
November the 1st we can apply here for next Septembers intake. Frightening stuff – my last baby going up to school – and my oldest will have finished eek.
Eeep that soon? Think it’s Feb here. Got open days next month though.

Gosh, how much does little miss look like you????? C starts school nursery next week, we have his uniform and book bag already, but proper school? Good job it’s a year away!
I know, I’m quite surprised how much I look like her at that age, same wild hair (hers will be up first day of school!). What day does C start? Bless him! Can’t believe they will be at proper school next year! x
